Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) is one of two gold standard treatments for PTSD & trauma as recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2013. Long recognised as an effective treatment for PTSD and trauma in adults, the evidence is now also mounting for its effectiveness with children and adolescents.  As a Fellow of the APS College of Educational & Developmental Psychology, Rob is well placed and excited at the prospect of making more use of these evidence-based techniques with kids who have experienced bad times.

The benefit of also using dual attention focus treatments in working with kids who may have ADHD or who may even be on the autism spectrum (ASD) is now also gaining an evidence base.  Here at Learning Curves, kids get to experience firsthand the most up to date and fun treatment resources, such as our TouchPoints  ‘buzzies’ which use BLAST neuroscience technology or with PIP biofeedback technology using ipad and iphone game aps to teach emotional control.
