Telehealth is Here

Learning Curves remains OPEN and will continue to play our part in helping you and those you care about through this exceptional time. We now offer Telehealth Services (telephone or video) through the Coviu platform which meets all the Australian Telehealth Standards when it comes to your privacy and confidentiality.

As from Monday 6th April, Telehealth Services provided to clients through Medicare who are concessional, under the age of 16, or in a vulnerable category (i.e. at risk of COVID-19) will be bulk billed. For other clients, Learning Curves will charge a co-payment but will stand by any current Service Agreement with our client.

In response to COVID-19, many Private Health Funds are now providing refunds for Telehealth Services (usually between $40 – $70) to their members with the appropriate cover.  It is important to contact your Health Fund before booking an appointment to check both the level of your cover and if Telehealth is allowed.  Medicare provides for a rebate of between $86 and $126 for psychological services.

What to Expect and Helpful Hints

We continue to strictly follow Health and Portfolio Government requirements without sacrificing our essential goal of providing you with a quality psychological service.  Our Taree Office remains open only due to our stringent hygiene routines and adherence to physical distancing and number requirements.  In short, your experience will continue to feel safe and personal.

With shutdowns in business and school and increased social distancing requirements when ‘out and about’ and while visiting vulnerable loved ones, it is often hard to know what to do. There are so many sources of opinion. Our advice is therefore to check out official sites such as www.australia.gov.au for the latest official news and to download the FREE Government app- “Coronavirus Australia”  recommended for 12+ available at either the online Apple App Store or Google Play.
